Chair & Designated Safeguarding Lead for the Committee.
I'm a museum professional with a deep love for archaeology and history. When I'm not exploring the past, I'm embracing the great outdoors, whether it's a leisurely walk or an occasional run. As a committee member, my passion is crafting exceptional early years learning experiences, ensuring every child's journey is remarkable.
Originally from the South, I have lived in Newcastle and now Belsay for over 20 years and there is
nothing I love more than exploring the wonderful countryside around us and being part of this rural
community.
Having been lucky enough to send our child to the pre-school and now benefitting from the wrap
around care I know how important this vital community setting is.
I have a background in early years education and both my children have had the pleasure of attending the pre-school over the years which they loved. I know how important the setting is to creating good foundations for children's learning and preparing the children for school. I love nothing more than spending my spare time with my family and two dogs enjoying Northumberland especially the beaches.
Originally from Germany, I came back to the UK in 2001 and then moved around a lot while pursuing my training and early career, before settling, very happily, in Northumberland to raise my two Wildling children.
As a working mum with no family nearby to help, I know just how important high quality and reliable childcare is for families, and joined the committee to make sure this can continue to be provided at Belsay.
But looking after children is one thing, making sure they thrive, grow and learn is another and my ultimate hope is to help support this setting in which each child is supported to develop to their full potential, where each child's uniqueness is recognised, valued and nurtured. Laying those foundations in the earliest years for healthy happy children, who grow into healthy happy adults.
